Training of Nutritious Snack-Making at FKM UNAIR: Efforts to Optimize GENIUS Activities in East Java

Faculty of Public Health Universitas Airlangga, as a member of Asosiasi Institusi Pendidikan Tinggi Gizi Indonesia (AIPGI), has the opportunity to serve as a team of builders for Gerakan Edukasi dan Pemberian Pangan Bergizi untuk Siswa (GENIUS) in East Java province. One of the roles is to provide training and mentoring on the preparation, processing, presentation and distribution of nutritious snack food providers in 5 districts/cities targeted for GENIUS activities in East Java, namely Probolinggo City, Tulungagung Regency, Blitar Regency, Kediri Regency, and Sidoarjo Regency.

A training activity on making nutritious snacks was held by FKM UNAIR on Thursday (5/10/23) at 9 AM until the end, at the Laboratory of Processing Faculty of Public Health Universitas Airlangga. The event was attended by the Head of the East Java Provincial Agriculture and Food Security Office, along with all Snack Food Provider Teams from 5 districts/cities targeted by GENIUS activities in East Java.

This training activity began with an opening by the Coordinator of the Nutrition S1 Study Program of FKM UNAIR, Emyr Reisha Isaura, S.Gz., M.PH., Ph.D. Then continued with a two-time speaker session by the resource person, Anisa Lailatul Fitria, S.Gz., M.Sc. After the speaker session was over, all training participants were facilitated to take part in nutritious snack processing and presentation practices held at the Laboratory of Processing FKM UNAIR . This training was carried out with the aim that the preparation, processing, presentation and distribution of snacks can be carried out by the SOP so that later the quality of snacks served at GENIUS activities can be guaranteed. The training activity ended around 3 PM which was then closed with a documentation session.
